Valentine’s Day is coming up and it’s time to get crafting for that special person in your life. Tuck your love notes into adorable mini envelopes and display on these paper stitched greeting cards designed by Tracey Daykin-Jones.

• Create a 14.5cm square blank from white card and cover the front with yellow patterned paper. Fix a panel of black lined paper down the left edge. Stick pink ricrac over the join and secure the ends on the inside of the card, then put to one side.
• Punch out nine envelope shapes from nine different patterned papers. Fold along the scored lines and stick the bottom section in place using double-sided tape. Die cut five circles from dark pink card and four from light pink card. Draw a letter in the centre of each to create the word ‘valentine’.
• Pierce evenly spaced holes around the drawn letters to create a guide for the stitching. Sew in contrasting colours. Go over each letter three times with doubled-up thread to create an effective finish.
• Fix a circle into each envelope using 3D foam pads. Starting at the bottom-right corner, stick the first envelope to the base card using tape. Add the remaining envelopes to complete the design
