Paper flowers are one of our favourite things, but sometimes they can prove a little advanced or long-winded for our liking. If you’re looking for a beginner project or something quick, you’re in luck. Use our paper flower SVG files or templates to cut various floral shapes from textured cardstock in your choice of colours, then layer them up in size order – the results are gorgeous! Corinne Bradd guides you in this simple two-step tutorial…
YOU WILL NEED:
Textured cardstock, various shades of pink
Glue Dots
Templates (above) or Tropical Flower SVG Files
Digital cutting machine
METHOD:
1. Use the SVG files with your digital cutting machine or download the templates and trace around the flowers onto the reverse of textured cardstock. With care you should be able to make two flowers from one 12” x 12” sheet. Vary the number of pieces of each size but, as a rule, cut more small flowers than large.
2. Curl the petals of each flower inwards using your thumb and a scissor blade. Place a large bloom on a flat surface and stick a Glue Dot in the centre. Add a second, smaller flower inside, ensuring the petals sit between the first set for a layered look. Continue adding flower shapes inside the blossom, finishing with two or three of the smallest pieces.
