Card making Christmas cards Christmas crafts How to Stamping Techniques Card Making
Pair your stencils with bright and punchy colours for a statement Christmas card like no other. The stencil uses an ingenious wheel, so that only one image is exposed at a time, meaning you are less likely to go over the edge and ruin your work.
YOU WILL NEED:
Stencil, Claritystamp 7” Wheelie Bauble
Stamp, sentiment
Paints: Dylusions Fresh Lime, Bubblegum Pink, Post Box Red, Calypso Teal
Cardstock: white, teal
Ink pad, black
Ribbon, green
Stencil brush
Adhesives
METHOD:
1. Using a craft knife and metal ruler, trim white card to 11cm x 15cm. Select an image on the wheelie stencil and position onto the card top-left. Using the stencil brush, lightly tap lime paint over the image, building up the layers gradually so the paint doesn’t seep under the stencil.
2. Pick up more paint on the brush, then with a slightly harder tapping motion, work around the edges, blending lightly into the centre; this will add a nice highlight to the bauble.
3. Choose another bauble shape and place the stencil so that it is close to the first one. Add teal over the image using the brush, making sure not to flood the paint under the stencil. Repeat with two more baubles and colour in with red and pink paint to build up the pattern.
4. Cover a white blank, 10.5cm x 14.5cm, with teal card. Trim the stencilled panel to 10cm x 14cm, then matt onto the blank. Stamp a sentiment onto white, matt onto teal and trim. Attach to the front and add a green bow to finish.
