Mix and match retro-inspired designs using your favourite techniques using the American Crafts Vicki Boutin stamp set set.
YOU WILL NEED:
American Crafts Vicki Boutin stamp set
Dies: circle, stitched circle, scalloped circles, ornate frames
Embellishments: ribbon, lace, pearl gems, silver gems, sequins
Ink pads: Ranger Distress Oxide Shaded Lilac; black, green
Fineliner, black
Marker pens
Acetate
Die-cutting machine
Adhesives: 3D foam pads, foam tape
METHOD:
You’re The Best
1. Layer light blue card onto a white square blank. Stamp a sentiment and frame in the top-left corner using black ink, then colour in the border of the frame with a blue marker pen. Trim a rectangle of dark blue card and stamp mandalas in black. Colour in some of the elements with a blue marker pen, then fix to the bottom of the greeting.
2. Apply a length of ribbon along the top to conceal the join. Stamp and cut out a butterfly, colouring it in with light and dark blue marker pens. Secure to ribbon on the left of the card front at an angle with 3D foam pads. Add three pearl gems in the top corner to finish.
It’s All Good
1. Mount grey card onto a white landscape blank. Cut a slightly smaller rectangle from white and blend green and yellow distress inks to create a gradient background. Once dry, adhere to the greeting.
2. Add a strip of grey striped paper along the bottom and a thin strip of green card to conceal the join. Stamp three birds onto white in black ink, colour in, then trim. Fix along the bottom so that they sit just above the strips.
3. Stamp a sentiment and frame in black, colour in, then cut out. Add a strip of green card towards the top and secure the sentiment on top with 3D foam pads. Finish with three silver gems.
Stamp ‘N’ Shake
1. Cut pink card into a square and die cut a circle from the centre. Layer acetate to the reverse, then run foam tape around the aperture and the edges. Stamp mini flower and leaf motifs onto white, colour in, then trim.
2. Fill the centre of the shaker element with the stamped motifs. Position white card on top, then secure to a square white blank. Stamp a flower and two branches in black ink onto white. Colour in, trim, then fix to the card.
Paisley Pretty
1. Stamp paisley and heart motifs onto a landscape panel of white card using black ink. Colour in with marker pens, then secure to a slightly larger green top-folding blank.
2. Take a sentiment frame stamp and print onto white. Trim, then colour in the frame section. Mount onto green card and fix to the centre of the greeting with 3D foam pads.
