Craft Essentials, Cricut Explore, Cricut Design Space software, Cricut vinyl: pink, Cricut tool set, Cricut transfer tape, Plain mug
• Connect the Cricut Explore to the computer and log on to your Design Space account. Select ‘Home décor’ from the categories menu and locate the ‘Heart mug’ project.
• The project makes a heart vinyl measuring 1.98″ x 2.41″ (approx 5cm x 6cm). To create the project as designed, click ‘Make it now’. To resize the project, click ‘Customise’.
• This project uses a mug canvas to allow easy visual sizing of the image. The dimensions of the canvas can be altered to match those of your chosen mug in the canvas properties screen. Resize the images as required by first highlighting the image and then dragging the corner point. The size appears in a black text box as the image is altered.
• Print out the desired number of hearts onto pink vinyl and cut out. Carefully remove the part of the vinyl not required, leaving the heart image on the backing sheet.
TOP TIP: When cutting, use the weeder tool to remove the tiny pieces of vinyl
• Cut a piece of transfer tape slightly larger than the heart image. Remove the backing. Firmly apply the transfer tape over the top of the heart image using the scraper tool. Carefully lift up the transfer tape: the heart image should be attached to it. Place the image side where required on the mug. Rub over the transfer tape with the scraper tool. Carefully lift the transfer tape, leaving the heart image in place on the mug.
TOP TIP: Gently rub over the image to remove any air bubbles
