The weather may be getting greyer, but there’s no need to let your home reflect this. Brighten up your abode with this colourful feather wreath!
Craft essentials
Designed by Corinne Bradd, this decoration is ideal for the autumn season. All you need is sturdy card (a cereal box is ideal), coloured and patterned papers, scissors, glue and a little bit of ribbon or twine. Follow these easy photo steps and you can whip one up in an afternoon!
• 1. Cut a 17cm circle of card. Trim an 8cm circle from the centre to make a ring
• 2. Cover the ring with wide strips of coloured paper, folding the ends and sticking to the reverse
• 3. Fold pieces of coloured paper in half and cut long leaf shapes from the crease
• 4. Open out the pieces and use sharp scissors to cut notches in the edges
• 5. Re-crease the fold and glue the bottom of the large feathers to the ring
• 6. Add more feathers, spacing the different colours out equally around the ring
• 7. Cut several smaller feathers and notch in the same way
• 8. Place these in front of the large feathers
• 9. Cut tiny feathers from patterned papers to make a final ring. Add a ribbon hanger to the reverse
