Make watercolour pens the star of the show and create a clever ink effect with Keren Baker.

Inky Christmas Card

Watercolour washes have been around for a while, but there’s a reason they are still popular – they produce a blend of vibrant hues and can be an attractive alternative to using paint alone. This mix of warming colours is perfect for some cosy crafting during winter. Just be careful not to overdo it with the colour.

YOU WILL NEED:
Dies: Spellbinders Mistletoe Doily, Mistletoe Gatefold; Concord & 9th Joyful Noel, Season of Cheer
Pens, Nuvo by Tonic Studios Aqua Flow: Evergreen Fern, Red Apple, Fresh Green
Drops, Nuvo by Tonic Studios: Red Berry, Caramel Cream
Paint, PaperArtsy Fresco Finish, gold
Elastic, red

METHOD
1. Using watercolour card, 11cm x 16cm, follow the step-by-step, adding more colour until the card reaches the desired intensity.

2. Brush green and red pens onto watercolour card, then die cut a wreath and letters ‘N’ and ‘E’. Die cut ‘L’ from gold and a Mistletoe Gatefold from watercolour card. Attach the trimmed gatefold, then add the letters to spell out the word. Adhere the panel to a green blank, 11.5cm x 16.5cm.
