Home decorations Papercrafter Techniques
Home is where the heart is with Corinne Bradd’s pretty heart garland – and it’s really simple to make!
Patterned papers, Baker’s Twine, Ribbon, Scissors, Stapler
• Cut a 1.5cm x 21cm strip of paper from three different patterned sheets. Stack together and fold in half
• Make a loop from a 12cm length of baker’s twine and staple this to the centre fold of the strips, joining all three layers together
• Fold the strips back over the loop and staple through six layers to create the top indentation of the heart
• Trim the layers of paper to different lengths, cutting 4cm off each outer strip and 2cm from the middle strips. Leave the inner strips uncut
• Curl the strips gently over the blade of a pair of scissors or around a pencil so they fan out from the centre
• Bend each strip right over to create a heart shape and staple all six ends together to hold them in place
• Create a garland from several hearts tied onto a bright satin ribbon to decorate a window frame or banister
