Bring an image to life with a touch of shimmer and some colouring tools. This versatile hot foiling technique can be applied to an image of your choice so you can create unique greetings. Corinne Bradd has used a unicorn image to show you how to use this simple method to create a majestic foiled masterpiece.
You will need: Craft essentials, Foil applicator, Gold foil, Washi tape, Marker pens
METHOD
1. Print a monochrome image of your choosing on a laser printer. For best results, set the image density to a strong black and print onto smooth, thin card. Turn on the foil applicator and leave it to heat up until the light illuminates.
2. Cut a piece of foil slightly larger than your printed image and place the sheet dull side down on the print. Put paper over the foil and feed the sandwich
through the machine. Once done let it cool slightly, then peel away the layers to reveal the image.
3. Trim away the excess card around the image, then colour the design with marker pens. Decorate a portrait blank with a border of coordinating washi tape and glue the foiled design to the centre with 3D foam pads.
