Making brilliant use of Hobbycraft’s Floral & Bright papers, this floral just because card is ideal for sending to that friend who needs a little pick-me-up. Any-occasion cards like this are all the rage at the moment, and this is one of the best ones. Featuring a clever partial card front, it uses simple floral motifs in an innovative way.
You will need:
Patterned papers, Hobbycraft Floral & Bright 6” x 6”
Stamps, WOW! Embossing Just Saying
Dies, hexagonal nesting
Embossing powder, WOW! Embossing Opaque British Summer
Punches: large flower, medium flower
Embellishments: ribbon, brads, gems
Tools: heat, scoring
Adhesives: 3D foam pads, glue
Die-cutting machine
1. Trim white card to 14cm x 21cm, score down from the long side at 7cm, then valley fold. Cover the front and inside panels with blue paper. Snip floral paper to 13cm square and adhere to the inside panel.
2. Matt the front panel with floral paper. Wrap thin ribbons three times around the right-hand side of the inside panel. Die cut two 5cm hexagons from yellow and two 4cm hexagons from flower paper.
3. Layer up, then attach to the top and bottom of the front panel with 3D foam pads. Stamp a sentiment onto yellow paper in embossing ink, then treat with grey embossing powder and heat-set.
4. Die cut into a 5cm hexagon and attach centrally to the right of the front panel with 3D foam pads. Punch two yellow flowers and layer up. Create a hole in the middle and add a brad. Secure in the top-right corner.
5. Punch six smaller flowers from floral paper and layer up in twos. Fix two to the inside panel and one just below the sentiment. Add gems to the centres of the smaller flowers and the sentiment.
