With no expensive tools needed, all paper weaving takes is your time and imagination. The woven piece could then be used as a background to a card or as it is here, cut into a basket shape for Easter. A traditional weave uses equally sized strips of paper, however here three colours of card are used in two sizes to give the weave a more interesting twist. Pink, dark pink and orange weaves worked best with a green card grass below it. Finish the card by mounting the basket onto the blank, cut a handle from pink card and add a ‘Happy Easter’ sentiment. Alternatively, use muted colours that harmonise if you like a classic Easter basket, or add strips of ribbon or embroidery thread into the weave to add texture to the overall design.
