Cathy Nordström is a surface pattern designer based in Stockholm where she lives with her husband and three kids. After working for ten years as a graphic designer, she finally decided to pursue her dream of adding surface pattern design and illustration to her skills and enrolled an online course. Five years down the line she is now working with some of her dream clients making fabric collections, wallpaper, kids’ decor, swimwear and packaging. Cathy is crazy about vintage wallpaper and fabric and finds much of her inspiration there. Most of her patterns are floral and she finds a huge amount of inspiration in nature and books about flora and fauna. Cathy’s Scandinavian heritage is constantly present, but she also has a deep love for lush and extravagant patterns and fabrics.
Clients include: Andover Fabrics, Dashwood Studio, Lilipinso, Printworks, L’Port Swimwear, Photowall Sweden, Scandinavian Pattern Collection and Louelle.Co.
Abby Zweifel is the owner of Pomelo & Pomelo, a design studio based in Sarasota, Florida. Abby studied for a BFA in Illustration at the Ringling College of Art and Design. She is particularly proud of working with MidwestCBK on a licensed collection, and on a specially commissioned project with Pier 1 Imports. She describes her style as using playful lines with fun, bright colours and tiny little details that make an object unique. Abby’s dream commission would be to create a range of fabrics. Working with her hands is a favourite way to relax, and sewing up something pretty with her own fabrics would be perfect.
Clients include: American Greetings, Michael’s, Crate & Barrel and Christmas Tree Shops.
