Just because cards have become a popular trend in recent years, showcasing our need for kindness and caring in the modern world. Ready to be sent to anyone at any time, just because cards feature sentiments that make the recipient feel good about themselves and show that you care not just on holidays and birthdays, but all year round. Take a look below for some of our favourite examples of just because cards.
1. Die-Cut Seagull Card
Credit: PaperCrafter
The perfect way to start off your caring crafting, this die-cut seagull card is a just because greeting with a wonderfully witty sentiment and die-cut characters to match. Coming from PaperCrafter designer Colette Smith, our seagull card is also a triple-technique marvel that is a brilliant way to improve your crafting. Alongside those die-cut seagull motifs are both stamping and stencilling. The circular focal point is a great way to show off your inking skills with blue ink and a cloud stencil forming the perfect background for our feathered friends. Brilliant to send to a friend at any time to lift their spirits, this die-cut seagull card would work particularly well during the balmy British summer.
2. Floral Just Because Card

The beauty of a just because card is that you can design your greeting pretty much any way you want. And if you have the option, why wouldn’t you go floral? As this flower-laden just because card shows, putting some bright blossoms and blooms on your card front will not only brighten up your design, but brighten up your recipient's mood too. This particular card makes great use of Hobbycraft’s Floral & bright collection by using a clever partial card front for an innovative touch. Of all the any-occasion sentiments out there, we particularly like this one too. ‘Just for being you’ is such a sweet message and embraces the beauty in all of us.
3. Quick Any-Occasion Card

Looking for a just because card to craft but don’t have a lot of time? We have the card for you! A quick any-occasion greeting, this colourful delight will put a ‘Smile’ not just on your card front but on your recipient’s face as well. If you’ve got coloured cardstock and some circle dies, then you’re ready to start work on this quick any-occasion card. The beauty of this design from Tracey Daykin-Jones is that it’s easily customisable as well. It’s not only just because cards that are all the rage at the moment, but personalisation too. So why not swap that ‘Smile’ sentiment out for something tailored to your lucky recipient?
4. Self-Care Snail Card
Credit: PaperCrafter
Witty, warm and ideal for giving a loved one a boost, this super self-care craft is one of our favourite ever just because cards. It takes the ideals of kindness and positive mental wellbeing behind the just because card movement, and extends them. Not only does this sentiment let the recipient know that you are thinking of them, but it also gives them a push to look after themselves. Self-care has been on the rise since the start of the pandemic, so this sweet snail card is both on trend and much-needed for a special person in your life. Oh, and it looks great too!
5. Stamp Masking Bird Card
Credit: PaperCrafter
One of the brightest and boldest cards on our just because round-up, this stamp masking bird card has so many elements that we love. First, there’s the dreamy inked background that beautifully blends different shades of blue to mesmerising effect. Then of course there’s the postmaster himself, an adorable character that we’re sure will be a joy to colour in with your choice of alcohol markers. Lastly, there’s the cute just because sentiment and the stamp masking itself. A smart and splendidly effective technique for overlapping your motifs, stamp masking is well worth learning. The results, as on this card, are tremendous.
6. Embossed Batik Card
Credit: PaperCrafter
Another just because card, another creative technique. This embossed batik card creates its stunning batik effect background using a combination of stamping and embossing. Surprisingly simple, heat embossing is a go-to technique for crafters looking to add some shimmer and shine to their makes. This just because card is no exception, enhancing that embossed and stamped background with distress oxide inks to marvellous effect. Amongst all of these any-occasion cards, this one keeps its just because sentiment simple, but presents it in a very clever way. Utilising die cutting and two different fonts, this is a sentiment that stands out.
7. Shadow Die-Cuts Just Because Cards
Credit: PaperCrafter
Whisper it, but this is not actually one card… it’s three! A full-on masterclass in utilising shadow die-cuts, this collection also happens to showcase three just because cards that can be sent to pep up a pal at any time of year. It’s the one pictured here that’s our favourite of the trio, if only for its sweet sentiment. As just because messages go, this is a doozy. ‘Best wishes to you… today, tomorrow and every day’ takes a classic sentiment phrase and turns it into the perfect example of an any-occasion card. The other cards are great, too, showing off the power of a negative die-cut and featuring some great central motifs and patterned papers.
8. Inked Night Sky Cards
Credit: PaperCrafter
You won’t believe this, crafters… this is another trio of cards! All of them just because cards, all of them utilising an inked background, and all of them absolutely stunning. You have Claire Richards to thank for that, as her night sky theme is what propels these any-occasion cards into the stratosphere. Not only will you fall in love with the characters and colours on these greetings, but we bet you’ll have fun making them and improving your ink blending technique too.
9. Stamped Character Just Because Card
Credit: PaperCrafter
Just because cards are all about putting a smile on somebody’s face and there’s not many better ways to do that than with a stamped character as cute as this one. It’s a bear! Riding a bicycle! Surrounded by wonderfully vibrant flowers, butterflies and bees, this stamped character is ideal for a summer-themed just because card. That sentiment is also a joy, ticking all the boxes for a good just because card. You can send this on any day, because all days are a good day to be happy! Especially when you’re crafting, of course.
10. Embossed Just Because Card
Credit: PaperCrafter
It's another embossed just because card on our list, and it's another belter. Bursting with colour, this embossed and inked greeting is as joyous as any just because card should be. Combining multiple sunny yellow shades with vibrant pinks and oranges, it is guaranteed to put a smile on your recipient's face. Whilst the sentiment keeps it simple, this embossed just because card packs in the techniques with plenty of opportunity to master your ink-work and die cutting along the road to crafty glory.
11. Floral Multi-Layered Stamp Card
Credit: PaperCrafter
A handmade just because card doesn’t have to be gorgeous to send a heartfelt message, but luckily this one is anyway! A floral multi-layered stamp card, this is a great example of papercrafting techniques being put to good use. Our straightforward tutorial shows you how to replicate these luscious blooms on this card front in no time, using careful stamping techniques. One of our favourite details on this floral just because card, however, is those colourful splatters. They give the greeting a fun, carefree quality that is perfect for a mood-boosting just because card.
