Get Crafty For Roald Dahl Day

Roald Dahl Day is celebrated across the world on 13th September, marking the author’s birthday. This year, we’ve all been invited to get crafty and use our imaginations - just like Roald Dahl. We’re celebrating the disgusting creativity of the Twits, the ingenious ideas of Matilda and the fiendish mischievousness of The Witches- so gather the kids, get thinking and have fun!

You can download your party pack from the Roald Dahl website here. It includes Mr Twit’s beard, the newt from Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory door hangers, all for you to cut out and colour. There’s also beautiful motifs drawn by Quentin Blake, ready for you to turn into a fun hanging mobile, as well as an exciting word search, puzzles and party invites.

Want more ideas? Why not involve children in making Happy Roald Dahl Day cards to send to their friends? They could also draw their own versions of their favourite characters. Stick them to card and stand them up to act out the stories! Let them experiment with chocolate making like Willy Wonka or make a fun ‘medicine’ (smoothie?) like George.

Use your crafty skills and encourage the kids to use their creativity this Sunday. You can share pictures of your makes on Twitter using #RoaldDahlDay. Send them to the Roald Dahl team @roald_dahl and make sure to let us see too @PaperCrafterMag!

Love Roald Dahl? Check out the fab craft range at docrafts, which includes papers and die-cuts, a scrapbook set, stationery pack, appliqué book, cushion kits and more.

Enjoy!
