We’re looking for the UK’s best cardmakers – could it be you?
Tattered Lace are giving you the opportunity to enter your own design into our exciting Christmas Cardmaker of the Year competition! Find everything you need to know below, plus top crafting guidelines to consider when crafting your masterpiece. Just remember to download and print your entry form here when you’re ready to send your entry off!
1. Design and make your card
Editor Elaine has some top tips when designing your Christmas card. "Sketch out your ideas before diving in, and if you're planning a moving card, check the mechanism works by making a paper mock-up first. Think vibrant and bold: avoid dark colours or large expanses of white. We need to be able to show off your card in one photo, so details inside the card and underneath flaps may not be visible".
2. Dream about winning first prize
If you're crowned the winner, you'll receive £500 of prizes from Tattered Lace, plus a Sizzix Big Shot Express machine worth nearly £170! Don't despair if it's not you - five runners up will receive a £115 goody bag full of Spellbinders dies, a load of craft bookazines and a handy craft trolley bag.
3. Wait for the judges to decide the winner
Our special craft industry judges Sharon Little, Stephanie Weightman and not forgetting our very own editor Elaine Bennett will select their favourites. They'll appear in issue 101 and on our website by the 21st October. Winners will be notified by Monday 26th September, so please keep an eye on your emails!
4. So what are you waiting for?
To enter, simply download and print your entry form here or cut it from the bottom of p26 in issue 98, on sale from 29th July to 26th August 2016. Then, send it along with your card entry via the Freepost address on the form to arrive by WEDNESDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER. Good luck!
The competition kicks off from 29th July when issue 98 goes on sale. We can’t wait to see your entries!
