Craft your Xmas: blog round-up

It’s the season to get Christmas crafting. If issue 65 has whetted your appetite for all things festive, editor Ella Johnston has rounded up some more fab Yuletide ideas from the blogosphere to keep you satisfied while you’re waiting for our next Noel-inspired issue…

Craft your Xmas: blog round-up

1. Minieco

Minieco is one my favourite blogs. Bristol based designer Kate Lilley's bright and colourful projects are not only fresh and innovative but her fab photography, easy step-by-steps and free downloadable templates provide a great resource for crafters everywhere. This cracker project pictured above gives this crafty classic a lively update and just looks great. A real pop of colour and breath of fresh air. minieco.co.uk

2. Oh So Beautiful Paper

Okay, I admit it, I'm a stationery addict and proud! There isn't a week that goes by with out me looking at this site to get my paper and design hit. I've been following Stateside blogger Nole Garey for more than three years now, she was the first to introduce me to the Rifle Paper Company and was instrumental in developing my interest in letterpress. No doubt she'll be doing festive wrapping and greeting round-ups this year like those shown so keep them peeled. ohsobeautifulpaper.com

3. All Things Paper

If you're looking to hone and explore your paper-crafting techniques then take a peak at this comprehensive crafty site. US-based blogger and craft author Ann Martin shares her rather notable expertise and passion in paper art through a series of tutorials, inspirations and useful links. She's a fabulous curator who cherry-picks a range of crafty projects to suit a spectrum of abilities. I'm going to make her loo roll tree topper this week. allthingspaper.net

4. Oh Happy Day

When I'm throwing a party, Oh Happy Day is the first place I go to for ideas, so it's particularly handy for when I want to do something extra special for the festive season. It's packed with amazing photography, wonderful eye-candy and some super-lovely makes that I can whip up from my crafty stash. Just like Minieco, Oh Happy Day offers a bright, fresh take on traditional decorations – and this oh so simple hanging Xmas tree mobile will be gracing my dining room ceiling this Yuletide. To be honest, if I could live in a blog it would be this one. ohhappyday.com

5. Pinterest

This website is another one of my online addictions. Pinterest is a brilliant place to get all kinds of crafty, design and illustration inspiration and I have to admit to visiting it at least three times a day. Take a look at my personal Pinterest Christmas board for I'll be updating it regularly in the run-up to the big day. Ella's Xmas Pinterest page
