PaperCrafter Pin of the Week: I’m your fan!
Every week a member of the PaperCrafter team tells you about their favourite image found on photo sharing site Pinterest. Today, Editor Ella Johnston tells us why she adores paper-make...
Our Mum is one of the most important people in our lives, and we can’t help spoiling her with cards upon homemade cards created by hand every year. To go with your greetings (or if you want to show off even more of your crafting prowess!), why not whip up one of these alternative gifts? They’re all easy to personalise and offer something a little different to ensure the day is made even more memorable.

You can make these adorable magnets with bits and bobs you have lying around the house. Take glass gems (the ones used to fill up a vase of faux flowers), tiny scraps of scrapbook paper and press-on magnets, and hey presto, Mum can pin up her fave photos of you all on the fridge.

Sweet, easy and inexpensive, this matchbox posy present is the new way to gift tiny flowers, keeping their delicate petals intact and - if they're real - their scent fresh. It's also a great new drawer-freshener idea; just decorate with lilac paper and fill with dried lavender. Just remember to take out the matches first!
5. Boxy Lady

Make a crepe paper rose topper to personalise a box of chocolates, or why not make one into a beautiful 'Best Mum in the World' rosette? Add pearls, vintage gems and any other embellishments she likes to make it extra special.
6. Stash Happy

Make good use of your TODO with this glam upcycle project by designer Corinne Bradd. Upstyle your Mum's crafting corner by applying scraps of foiled and letter-pressed colour papers to an unloved unit and it will take pride of place in her craft room.

It's a great way for you to practise different styles of calligraphy and they're guaranteed to show her you're grateful for all she does. Mother's Day mastered!
