15 Edible Papercrafts For Creative Bakers

This year’s Great British Bake Off has seen some amazing creations. As creative-minded people, we love seeing how the bakers decorate their cakes, and there have been some very innovative ideas this series.

15 Edible Papercrafts For Creative Bakers

1. Quilled cookies

You can quill rice paper just as you would normal paper strips. Then add to your cakes and biscuits with a little bit of icing to help it stick. Just make sure your quilling tool's clean before starting!

2. Frozen cake

Whether you're having a winter wedding or a Frozen-inspired party, this wafer paper snowflake is perfect for adding the finishing touch to a snow white cake.

3. Paper filigree

You can turn rice paper different colours using food colouring. This bright red hue is perfect for making vibrant flowers.

4. Fun florals

Why not try paining rice paper with food colouring to create realistic effects? We love these gorgeous edible paper flowers

5. Wonderful wedding

This cake really has the wow-factor - paper coils are easy to make but look very impressive. This was made by artist, Kara Bustos.

6. Quilling queen

This beauty shows how delicate and sophisticated quilled rice paper can look. The heart on top is the perfect finishing touch.

7. Bright & beautiful

Here, coloured and patterned edible papers have been coiled into beautiful flowers. It's hard to believe you can eat them!

8. Falling petals

Recreate this effect by using a clean craft punch to cut flower shapes from dyed rice paper.

9. Bold move

Make your bakes stand out with big, beautiful flowers like these. The pattern on the cake is made from wafer paper too!

10. Anemone cake

Designed by Hey There, Cupcake!, the delicate anemone flowers on this tiered creation are made from... you guessed it, wafer paper!

11. Where the heart is

This decoration is actually made from gumpaste, rather than paper. But you can see how the art of quilling has inspired the design - why not give it a go?

12. Fit for a bride

A lot of work has gone into this beautiful bake. Pair quilled rice paper with edible pearls for the perfect wedding cake.

13. Paper peony

When trying your hand at edible papercrafts for the first time, a flower like this pretty bloom is a good place to start.

14. Wafer wonder

Designed by Sweet On You Cups & Cakes, this bake's bottom tier is completely covered in wafer paper petals. It's topped off with a simple paper flower.
